Company Overview

  • Founded: 2002

  • Headquarters: Springville, Utah

  • Global Presence: Operated in over 30 countries

  • Closure Announcement: April 11, 2025

Modere established itself as a leader in the wellness MLM space, offering a range of health, beauty, and personal care products. The company emphasized clean-label formulations, avoiding controversial ingredients like parabens. Despite its success and a customer base exceeding 3 million globally, Modere abruptly ceased operations in April 2025, leaving many distributors and customers surprised and seeking alternatives.

Product Lineup: Clean-Label Wellness and Beauty

Modere’s product portfolio was diverse, focusing on health, wellness, and personal care. Key offerings included:

  • Liquid BioCell®: A collagen supplement aimed at promoting joint health and skin elasticity.

  • Trim: A weight management product combining CLA and Liquid BioCell® to support fat metabolism and muscle tone.

  • CellProof Skincare: A line of skincare products featuring BioCell Collagen® CG for anti-aging benefits.

  • Axis™ TreBiotic: A prebiotic, probiotic, and postbiotic blend designed to support gut health.

These products were marketed under the “Live Clean” philosophy, emphasizing non-toxic, eco-friendly ingredients.

Compensation Plan: Social Retail Model

Modere’s compensation structure was built around its “Social Retail” model, focusing on customer acquisition and retention. Key components included:

  • Customer Commissions: Earnings from direct customer sales.

  • Team Builder Bonuses: Incentives for building and mentoring a team of Social Marketers.

  • Leadership Development Bonuses: Rewards for developing leaders within one’s organization.

  • Lifestyle Bonuses: Additional perks for achieving specific ranks and performance metrics.

While the plan was praised for its simplicity and customer-centric approach, some distributors found it challenging to achieve substantial income without significant team-building efforts.

Pros of Joining Modere (Prior to Closure)

✅ Pros

  • Clean-Label Products: Emphasis on non-toxic, eco-friendly formulations.

  • Innovative Social Retail Model: Focus on customer acquisition over aggressive recruitment.

  • Diverse Product Range: Offerings spanning health, wellness, and personal care.

  • Global Reach: Operations in multiple countries, allowing for international business opportunities.

❌ Cons

  • Market Saturation: With over two decades in operation, some markets were saturated, making it challenging for new distributors to find untapped customer bases.

  • Income Limitations: Significant earnings often required extensive team-building and high sales volumes.

  • Product Pricing: Premium pricing may have been a barrier for some potential customers.

  • Abrupt Closure: The sudden shutdown in 2025 left many distributors and customers without recourse, highlighting the risks associated with MLM ventures.

  • Investor Dependency: Modere’s reliance on external investors created a fragile financial model. When capital dried up and growth plateaued, those same investors triggered the company’s closure.

Final Thoughts: Why I Chose a Different Path

As a pharmacist with nearly a decade of clinical experience, I value products backed by science and integrity. And as someone who has spent years studying this industry, the abrupt closure of Modere was not only unfortunate — it was a wake-up call. I never wanted to put myself or my family in the same vulnerable position that thousands of Modere reps experienced overnight.

That’s why when I was exploring business opportunities, I paid close attention to every red flag: overdependence on investor funding, lack of sustainable systems, and unclear compensation structures. The company I ultimately joined checked all the right boxes — strong leadership, product integrity, simplicity, and long-term security.

Sometimes the most important decision in business isn’t which company is best on paper — it’s which one you can truly trust to stand the test of time.
